Mera Peak Climbing

Over View

Among the entire permitted trekking peak, Mera peak is the 18th highest peak. Mera peak is moderately challenging situated 11 km south of Mt. Everest. It can be a thrilling opportunity to try some Himalayan rock and ice to those climbers who haven’t done any climbing. This peak lies in the Khumbu region which is very exhilarating. This peak looks tiny in front of above 8000 m mountains. Its height is 6461m due to which it is not technical. There should be a good accumulation with the altitude, some climbing equipment ice axe and crampons with little experience of climbing.

Both the rich Sherpa culture and the wilderness areas of the Khumbu region can be explored during the trek of Mera peak. The starting point of this climb is Lukla airstrip or Phaplu airstrip. There will be 30 minutes flight over to Lukla from Kathmandu. Lush green hills, forests of Rhododendron and bamboo and deep river gorges are the beautiful things which are passed during our trek. There may not be lodges and hotels in every part so we need to spend some cool night at the tented camp. We should not worry about fixing rope, making a tent, preparation of summit for resting because all the responsibility is taken by the Sherpa staffs. All the equipment are given to us. There may be some problems if we forget any given equipment.

Trekking of Mera peak will provide us instant Himalayan trek. Autumn and spring will have crystal clear view of the surrounding.
